Still a bulky helmet but it is 100% DOT approved. I like to use it occasionally when the weather gets real hot but if you use a full helmet then you have to get used to a few things with these short ones. The noise in your ears is really loud so you will want to use the optional ear flaps. The wind wants to take the helmet off your head so you will feel a lot of resistance on your chin strap. At higher speeds (freeway) the wind goes under your sunglasses so you will need to use the motorcycle sun glasses that are sealed or your eyes will tear tremendously. All and all a very good helmet but there are things to get used too and a few accessories to purchase in addition to really make it work for you. One downsize is that it doesn’t have a quick release for the chin strap so you have to tie and untie it every time.
